User_Name: YELLOW JACKET MessagesARE THE MATUTAKE BUYERS COMING TO C.J THIS YEAR WHAT'S UP?? ANYBODY KNOW? User_Name: Sniper MessagesThanks for the tips. User_Name: Charlie Harper MessagesChanged the channel, but just had to come back...it's kinda like that car wreck on the freeway.......you don't really want to stare, but you just can't help it ! User_Name: auguie Messageshi john loble User_Name: Slim Pickins MessagesSniper; I like to use the outside leaves of fresh, -white only- cauliflower (not if it has yellowed) raw in salad, I slice the center thin for dipping in batter then fry in butter... YUM. ..... Forest Harvest, nice pickins. User_Name: forest harvest MessagesHello Sniper, I'm sorry for the continuous diatribe in this board, I just could not contain myself , anyways please don't boil your cauliflower mushroom you will destroy it, boiling will kill all the enzymes plus it would not be very appetizing, (sorry Carla) , best way to cook it is lightly, you could eat it almost raw , use it has if it would be a main vegetable, in my opinion it's the best way ,check this link., http://recipes.wikia.com/wiki/Cauliflower_mushroom User_Name: Carla MessagesHi Sniper, I have heard of people actually using them like a noodle just boil and add your favorite sauce ;-) User_Name: Sniper MessagesHey all. Looks like i didn't miss much while away. Still pickin on Chris and August. Cant we all just get along? I found a beautiful cauliflower mushroom today. About a 25 pounder! I have never eaten one but hear they are great. Anybody have any recipes? User_Name: rt Messages...looking at pic 14 of 17...looks like a borg, dune, weirg, dog cage, kind basket, other than that , nice shrooms User_Name: joe D MessagesForest Harvest Nice photos of the mushrooms you picked User_Name: forest harvest MessagesHey there folk, Check this link is to last week shore trip and also the second round of pictures is from two weeks ago , the picture of myself with the matsies , those are some of the matsies that were growing in the cranberry bushes check how long the stem is. http://picasaweb.google.com/mondragonleo/MatsieAndFriends2009?feat=directlink User_Name: Carla Messagesmmmmm Coffee ;-) User_Name: rt MessagesMaybe Bubbles, Jullian and Ricky should do a guided foray? apparently they have a permit and genuine keen interest...... User_Name: Buttonz MessagesAnother year goes by and August and Chris are writing chex on the internets their ass can't cash... lol User_Name: forest harvest MessagesHello there mushie folk, Well it seems that August as started to pock the wasps nest again, [ he could test the patience of a saint ], last year tread , remember ? Andy had to start a new tread regarding the maleficence's of Chris and August , have we forgotten that ?, It's obvious that the people that are posting favorable postings regarding their "ventures" are either personally involved or too chicken shit to post their identities since they are hiding under pseudonymous , if they firmly believe on those folks actions I deem it unnecessary to hide your identities, anyways you don't have to travel far to see the vast difference on ethics , Andy in one hand which as greatly contribute to the pool of knowledge , charges 0 $ , to truly teach people versus Chris which knows and as contributes nothing to the mentioned pool charges money to fools, enough I'm getting upset, User_Name: JDS MessagesSpelling test...rpm's spelling sure isn't the worst on this board!!! Despite a couple of minor errors, his/her message came through loud and clear to me. What didn't you understand? By the way, why did you find it necessary to capitalize the "S" in the word "spelling"? User_Name: Spelling test Messagesrpm, you need to take some basic English and Spelling, it is very difficult to even understand you as there are so many numerous spelling mistakes... User_Name: Carla MessagesJeez, I think that was a lil bit rude rpm.... User_Name: rpm MessagesAugust or Chris attempting to teach proper forest habits is over rated, first you got to be registered in the forests your going to do pay forays in . that is the first attempt at common sence and proper forest habits education. call the gifford pinchot and see if either person was registered to conduct business in the Nat forest as advertised by Chris. there are dozens of legal pay foray organizations locally that follow the rules and are registered with the many national forests up and down the cascades. you 2 jokers arent neither of them, respectible or educational folks, now if you conducted business like the other ORGs do then NO PROBLEM , Oh by the way, most Org's are non profit and donate most of the proceeds back to the forest service or public lands they do business in for obvious reasons, can you think of one? or are you to greedy? User_Name: Carla MessagesThank goodness we have rain here now.... phew User_Name: Lone Lobo MessagesAndy; I will not be able to come for your foray, so if I was in the top 5 you can bump someone else up. ........ lapu lapu; You may be correct, I was going off the top of my head for the date at the time. As for the other person, I believe it was this past spring where the man you referred was complaining that he could not afford diapers etc. I believe he is one of the Eugene area [commercial pickers in denial ] that posts on the Oregon Myco board. If I remember correctly, he was complaining about the price of morels being too low early last spring and was blaming it on California pickers. User_Name: red man Messageswazz up User_Name: wrong Messagesyou are wrong rpm, any fees collected go directly to Obama either to build bigger facilities in afghanistan or whatever he so chooses, it doesn't go back to the local forest service! If anything, them coming stimulated the local economy with eating establishments, hotels, gasoline, grocery stores, etc! User_Name: Matsiman Messages
Greetings All, Well the matsi foray is still on
but can only take 5 this time. May be able to do another one later. We will
be picking private property, with permission of property owner. Makes it
easier that way.
This isn't going to be a go to the patch and
pick thing. We will hunt matsi using the signs given us at the time. I'm
tiered of patch picking.
Friday 11/13/09 will be the begin date. I'll
have campsites for those participating. If it is wet, there is a cover to
sleep under, or set up tents. Friday will be a get to know day with a
lecture in the evening. Saturday will be a guided foray on private property.
Sunday will be a day for each to practice what they learned.
If you intend on picking on public lands, I
suggest you get here on Friday to get a free use permit. Public lands are
adjacent to private we will pick.
I have a list of 10 who made request to go. I
will register the first 5 from that list who respond to this message.
Later, Matsiman
User_Name: Matsiman MessagesAugust, Thanks for the reply. I remember one of your messages said you had picked 30 pounds of peach in a day and were surprised cause it was so dry and hot. I can't call long distance from here, and don't plan to go anywhere soon. Later, Matsiman User_Name: rpm MessagesLapu I think you miss the whole point of the educational experience the 5% fees that didnt get paid go back to keep the roads paved bridged and rocked and gate free so your blanky blankty blankty can go hiking in that forest location again. User_Name: lapu lapu Messageslobo, you may have your time frame off one year if what i read on a discussion board or two last year where a person was ranting about how commercial pickers had come in and picked all there fire morels is correct. A person who was selling at a farmers market in montana was crying about someone else picking all of the morels in a free use burn. Another person was crying that he could not afford diapers because of commercial pickers selling too cheep. Funny that both of these persons claimed to not be any sort of commercial picker, yet complained that others were getting the morels they wanted to sell themselves. FOREST HARVEST, i agree with you about it being, "hypocrisy at their best". In my opinion August or Chris attempting to teach proper forest habits is a very good thing and more of it is needed. User_Name: Carla Messagesdicksstation@msn.com is my email Addy. And goats milk is no prob...lol User_Name: A" MessagesAndy, I would say there has been a lot of rain in July&August and even in Sept. But what type of of Chant's are you ask about, low land are peach chant's. By the way wouldyou give me a call at 509-469-8946,I would like to talk about something that hit me really hard. By the way I do have I do have a CPR card and a first Aid Card and up to date. Thank you Cooking glr User_Name: Porctopia MessagesCarla how about a lil goat milk in my latte and your email addy? User_Name: ZiQuinn MessagesI understand what I have to say means little. But in a effort to prevent over lapping interest, the, "Matsiman" site has divided it self into 3 different sections. "Mad Morel Board", being one of them, has meaning. If you want more tech info, go to the Buyer and Pickers section. This board expands into the, Masti. Morel, chanty, as well as, B.S. If you don't want "B.S.", go to another offering or just go away.. We still have freedom of choice. Don't know how long we will have it, so use it now... User_Name: Robbie Paycheck MessagesAugust are you friends with the Gifford pinchot, called them the other day, they have no recorded info of you or Chris, obtaining a outfitter guide permit required in Washington, for your foray. they are looking for their 5% gross commissions fees plus fines from last years forays. when you going to educate yourself and use the proper manners in the woods and abide by the same rules my friends have to and just how educational are you at CPR anyhow, boy about 6 of you clowns on here are just clueless about your facts on the subject. Didn't surprise me at all that you are partnered again, taking advantage of the public lands , Joe chung said it right! "you guys are a bunch of F idiots on matsiman" his quote, not mine. from a few years back and you still dont get it! lie some more A User_Name: Been awhile, same ole crap MessagesBeen a longtime since i was logged in here, and i see nothin has changed, same crap slander from forest harvest and others. this has come down to about 5 or 6 die hards on here, all the good guys are gone for good because of all your crap. leave people be and get a fricken as you say life User_Name: forest harvest MessagesHey Lobo it's always good to hear from you,, yes things are ok. with me.. thanks for your concerns, hope you are doing well as well , It was quite a laughable anecdote about the woman which used the" false" permit, I'll say hypocrisy at their best , Well take care of yourself and as always my best regards. User_Name: germany17 MessagesYes. And i am somewhat reluctant to say that some of those guys might be my relatives! lol.....My crutch leave no litter :) User_Name: Carla MessagesHey Germany, ur post is on the other board about non english speaking people's trash. Anyway, I just want to say that I see a lot of english speaking people come into the buy stations a bit tipsy I would say... And for some reason they have no cans or bottles with them ;-) User_Name: Carla MessagesLobo, I see that type of behavior a lot... User_Name: Lone Lobo MessagesAugust; I am glad that the foray went well for you and others involved. I cringe when I view trash or destroyed mushroom beds, I have numerous photos of picker as well as fire-fighter trash that I collected to create a better viewing experience. .... I have an interesting story of something interestingly amusing that I observed earlier this year. ???????????? .... A mushroom matron type person went to a neighboring forest to purchase a commercial mushroom permit because they were not available in the local forest near where they lived, as I recall she said that she never planned to pick where that permit was valid but desired to have a paid permit in possession when selling her fire morels picked from a personal use site. This person allegedly was harvesting a burn site close to home this past summer and selling many of her pirated fire morels in a Farmers Market ‘whole & un-cut’ even though it was required to cut each morel in half lengthwise in the burn they were harvested in. When others commercial foragers came in and picked the same burn, she went ballistic over “The Commercial Pickers” and allegedly turned them in for commercial picking where it was designated ‘personal usages only’… LOL ... User_Name: germany17 MessagesMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm! The rain, wind and overcast make for a good fire, good times, and good cookin. Partner and i have been doing real well in our patches. Awesome thick winter buttons starting to grow. Blue Chanties, hedgehogs, Chicken, Lions mane, Boletus and more. Whats better than football on sunday and all day cookin and "the DING DING"!?!?!?!? User_Name: Matsiman MessagesAugust, I got a question. Did you pick lots of Chanties before the rains? Later, Matsiman User_Name: CleElumGrl MessagesHi August, saw some of the finds, nice. Looks like the weather held up nicely this year. I also appreciate the teachings you have passed on to myself and husband last year. User_Name: A; MessagesFor those of you who think they know it all about my foray here in Cougar,Wash. well you don't know what is really going on. We or should I say I, have not gone in to the this foray with those that have payed to come to the foray; without a personnel permit and hike into a closed wounds,we did go to many other place with permits and I have gone to my high to see what other people have done to it and like I have said they have done more harm then good. Put Chris down if you like but I have the last word on where to take them who won't to learn the right way to pick and what is safe to eat. Chris and I have done some filming of what those other people have done to a very old beds and the last of Mt St Helen's best picking grounds that now may be lost for good from pickers that don't even live here and have been sent there by buyer's that only think of is money. Yes I do receive a wage for what I know and it's more fun to teach what I have learn over 33 year's. Those of you who put people down for teaching others need to get out of what you as well are doing; even those that buy from the picker's. I really have no more to say to you but to get a life and get out of what you are doing. This is my last year and saleing to those that don't care about paying a good and fair price to to those that are clean picker. I well keep on teaching others to right way and how to find good grounds. Keep all your bad comments to yourselfs, I need not hear or say what how you fill. I know more then you well know and you are not welling to learn. Thank you lone lobo and I hope that person you knows whom there. buy the way it was a big hit on this years Foray. User_Name: Carla MessagesHi John, You are very well spoken :-) User_Name: John Holmes MessagesForest Harvest; good to see that you are doing so well, I viewed your most recently posted beautiful mushroom photographs, very nice. .... August & friends, I wish you the very best in your endeavors. As you already know I do not agree with some methods of conducting guided forays but I never felt it affect my friendship with those who believe differently than I do. .... .... .... Now to a different but somewhat related subject, there are many who feel that it is wrong for the government to require permits to forage for or sell wild mushrooms and I feel that obedience is between the forager and his 'Maker', this certainly has provided some interesting human relation observances. .... What does bother me is the few... "holier-than-thou" folks ...who take much pride in learning Latin names to apply to their foraged findings and share their thefts proudly with friends. ........ It is not the disobedience that bothers me; it is the hypocrisy that seems out of place. ….. Last spring a Latin name spouting woman allegedly proclaimed, at a ‘Jack Creek’ buy station, negative comments about commercial foragers and then came back privately to make arrangements for selling her pirated king boletes to be shipped from Montana later in the summer... Lol User_Name: forest harvest MessagesAugust,, That fricking fool of Chris is an scoundrel and we detest that fool here. User_Name: A" MessagesHa all, here I'am in Cougar,Wash. teaching the good people on how the pick mushrooms. Yes it is a foray. If only you all could see how Bad the patch's are you would cry `like I have. Never seen it like this and some people ask why I take people out and teach them how to pick hmmm,T-dog you should learn more about whom I really am. I may never come back here if something is not done about. Baby pine's about half inch long pull from there bed's and left on the ground. we have film the ground and plans to put in out for all to see. Say what you well about and Chris but before you do walk a mile are two and learn what I have and then judge me. User_Name: Carla Messageshi Lone Lobo :-) User_Name: Lone Lobo MessagesZiQuinn; shame on you, he he... the wabbit is busy elsewhere since mostly recovering from the flu and cannot compute for now. lol User_Name: Carla Messages:-) Yay, so now I know I am not all alone :-) User_Name: ZiQuinn MessagesCreate a whole new board for him, and where is he?? Carla, Starbucks has a new instant coffee that tastes like a non. Do you think the rabbit has the "Swine Flu""?? I have seen some of the women he has been with... User_Name: Carla Messagesjeez guys, it's about to echo in here....lol User_Name: Carla MessagesManicjon, I am glad u used the word "waste" because chasing mushroom pickers is an absolute waste of tax money. There are more important things to police than a guy trying to support his family.... A lot of mushroom pickers are legal picking and do not need to be stopped for 45 mins to prove it...lol User_Name: CleElumGrl MessagesNice pic's on that website you told me to go to August. Send me some chicken of the woods ;) What do the blue chanterelles taste like? User_Name: manicjon MessagesCarla; Thank You, I was surprised when I discovered some of the other ways big brother tracks what happens. I am always interested in what they do in tracking us and much of my research interest has been in their methodology and what occurs. If anyone has an interesting story to share, I might include it in a future publication of how taxpayer dollars are wasted chasing mushroom pickers.. User_Name: Lone Lobo MessagesZiQuinn; .... none of those blueberries or the yummy blueberry-hucks here, I have picked in the Rainier & Helen's areas and purchased them from Dale Cook to sell at an Idaho Farmers market. Does anyone know where he is, I lost contact a few years back. Our hucks were awesome this year my areas have frozen out, my upper morel patches have had snow at least three times in August & September. User_Name: Carla MessagesManicjon, In our area they use license plates to track down pickers in areas where they are required to have permits and they use the name of the registered owner and compare it to permit holders.... User_Name: Carla MessagesAugust.... I seem to have the wrong number for you in my phone... If u do not get a message from me today, call me back and I will put the right one in the phone...lol User_Name: ZiQuinn MessagesMust be time to pick "Blueberrys". Whats say Lobo? |
